FedEx to cut daytime domestic flight activity by 60%
FedEx Corp. plans to significantly slash daily flights and the number of U.S. cities served by air during the daytime when its air cargo contract with the U.S. Postal Service expires on Sept. 29, resulting in significant pay cuts for pilots, senior managers informed crews this week.
HMM, ONE to launch Asia-Mexico ocean shipping connection
HMM and Ocean Network Express plan to launch a service lane connecting Asia to Mexico starting Aug. 16, according to a July 15 press release.
The Far East-Latin America Express route, or FLX, has a round-trip duration of 42 days, starting in Shanghai, China, before stopping in Busan, South Korea, on its way to Lázaro Cárdenas, Mexico.

End of trucking recession finally in sight as freight rates rise
Trucking executives in the U.S. are fanning optimism that the end of their recession may be close as freight rates look set to grow for the first time in nearly two years.
The average cost of moving goods by truck is set to rise 0.2% year-on-year in July, after 27 consecutive months of declines, according to freight marketplace DAT Solutions.
