Freightgate announced it has successfully deployed sophisticated export denied person screening capabilities in its Logistics Cloud with easy integration in ERP, CRM, SCM environments and TMS transportation management systems.
Freightgate, a global provider of Logistics Cloud Solutions, announced today that it has successfully deployed sophisticated export denied person screening capabilities in its Logistics Cloud. The Logistics Cloud, known as the Freightgate Universe, contains functionality supporting compliance to U.S. Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Homeland Security. Easy integration with ERP, CRM, SCM environments and TMS transportation management systems. Denied Person Screening is also known as Restricted Party Screening.
Numerous Federal agencies are involved in maintaining and updating Blocked, Denied, Entity and Debarred Persons Lists. Companies, entities, and individuals found on the lists are sanctioned by the U.S. government and may not export goods from the United States or receive exported goods from the United States. Exporters are responsible for ensuring that all export transactions are properly authorized. Depending on the program, criminal penalties for willful violations can include fines ranging up to $20 million and imprisonment of up to 30 years. Civil penalties for violations of the Trading with the Enemy Act can range up to $65,000 for each violation.
The Freightgate solution ensures compliance with an array of Denied Parties Lists. Across all sources well over 80 programs are considered as part of the screening process. A partial list of Denied Person Screening sources include:
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)
2013 OFAC Recent Actions
U.S. Department of Treasury – Office of Foreign Assets Control
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
U.S. Department of State – Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) List
U.S. Department of State Arms Export Control Act Debarred Partiesv U.S. Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls – Debarred List

“As a demand driven company, our goal is to provide the most comprehensive compliance solution possible with speed and precision. Checking each export shipment against each denied parties list, one by one, is neither practical nor effective; using tuned fuzzy logic via cloud based web-services is superior and affordable,” states Martin Hubert, CEO and President, Freightgate.
